“THE VOICE OF HIS THUNDER” DAY OF THE LORD – AUGUST 31, 2022

REVELATION 10:3

3. And He shouted with a loud voice like a roaring of a lion; and when He had shouted, the seven thunders gave voice and uttered their message in distinct words.

Definitions

Thunders -c) to roar, thunder.

Thunder -d) the sound that follows a flash of lightning, caused by the sudden disturbance of air by electrical discharge.

Psalm 18:13 The Lord also thundered from the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice, hailstones and coals of fire.

Joel 3:16 The Lord will thunder and roar from Zion and utter His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake, but the Lord will be a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the children of Israel. Amp.

The Lord is preparing us to listen to the thundering’s of His voice. He will speak through His Holy Mount Zion and will roar His warnings. This is meant to shake up His people and awaken them. This will be made known in an extreme way. We are not told what will be or what He will say. But it is meant to shake us to action.

Job 37:1-5

1. Indeed, (at His thundering’s) my heart also trembles, and leaps out of its place.
2. Hear, oh, hear the roar of His voice and the sound of rumbling that goes out of His mouth!
3. Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, and His lightning to the ends of the earth.
4. After it His voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, and He restrains not (His lightnings against His adversaries) when His voice is heard.
5. God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. Amp.

In Job 37 He explains His thunder. He shows the lightening in the sky and then lets the thunder roar. These are His voices showing man that God is in control. Man gets involved in the things of this life and believes he is in control. Then the Lord brings the storm and stops all activity for a while.

He wants us to be aware that He is watching everything we do. That He can take our breath away at any moment. He can remove the sun and bring darkness. He can send hailstones to break the trees. He can shake everything out of its place. And He will come and do these things. They all are His voices, and we are to comprehend what they say.

Psalm 18:7 Then the earth quaked and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled, they moved and were shaken, because He was indignant and angry.

And what is He telling David in Psalm 18? He is angry because David is being threatened by his enemies. He is coming down to protect Him and deal with the enemies. He says;

Psalm 18:25 With the kind and merciful You will show yourself kind and merciful; with an upright man You will show Yourself upright;

26. With the pure you will show Yourself pure, and with the perverse You will show Yourself contrary.

27. For You deliver an afflicted and humble people, but will bring down haughty looks. Amp.

This is a picture of His last days recompense. He will roar and thunder His warnings from Zion and the world, and all will tremble and shake. But His own will know exactly what His thundering means and will not fear but rejoice because He comes!
