REVELATION 16:18…and a tremendous earthquake; nothing like it has ever occurred since men dwelt on the earth, so severe and far reaching was that earthquake. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Earthquake -d) a shaking of the crust of the earth, caused by underground volcanic forces or by shifting of rock.
Fault -d) in geology – a break in rock or strata or veins that causes dislocation along the line of fractures.
WHAT IS AN EARTHQUAKE?
The earth is made up of crustal plates that create the earth’s surface. When God creates or uncreates a mountain, these plates converge or diverge causing the earth to move at the center of major oceans forming ridges and trenches.
Many earthquakes are caused by volcanic activity in the oceans. However, some are caused by the shifting of rock underground. This break in the rock strata or the line of fracture is called a fault.
Though Kentucky is not known for earthquake activity, there is the New Madrid Fault line located on the southwestern state line. This fault has the possibility of a major earthquake. When the Lord rises mightily to shake the earth – the earth will shake – how much more on a fault line?
Revelation 6:16 Every mountain and island were dislodged from its place.
Revelation 16:20 Every island fled, and no mountain could be found.
The Lord is making the earth level. He is uncreating every high and uplifted thing physically and spiritually.
Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as a leaf falleth from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
There have been many meteors sighted that have come close to hitting the earth. If it hit a city, it would have been like a bomb. What will be when the stars fall? This great shaking is prophesied in Isaiah 2:19.
19. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth. KJV.
He is waking up His people. When a mother wakes up her child, she lightly shakes him. If he does not respond, she shakes a little harder. She continues until he wakes up. How much more is the Lord going to shake everything that can be shaken until we wake up.
He wants us to be ready when He comes. Many have been hearing this message for so long it does not penetrate. But one day this great earthquake will come and be the most devastating in all of time. Many will wake up. Many will run and hide.
Help us Lord to take this seriously. Awaken our spirit so that we will allow you to move in our lives and prepare us for this day! Thank you, Jesus!
‘If he does not respond, she shakes a little harder.’ I love this analogy. Perfect‼️
