ISAIAH 35:1-4

  1. The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
  2. It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
  3. Strengthen ye the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees.

4. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; He will come and save you. KJV.

DEFINITIONS

Lebanon -c) white mountain.

Carmel -c) fruitful.

Sharon -c) to make right, pleasant and prosperous.

This scripture is talking about the last days. He comes with recompence. That means we will reap what we have sown. Some will get rewarded, and some will get judgment. And He is telling us to help each other saying the Lord is coming back so let us be ready and fear not. He will save us.

In verse 1 the desert or solitary place is rejoicing and blossoming. It is the secret place where we are alone with the Lord. We all have our places that we pray. I know when my husband Gary was alive, I took him to work everyday and picked him up. I got into the habit of praying in the car. That was okay for certain prayers that you must pray everyday.

But when we seek His face, which means hearing His voice and pouring our heart out to Him, He wants all of our attention. When you are driving you have to pay attention to what you are doing, or disaster can occur. Intimacy with the Lord requires our full attention with no distractions. That is only right because He is more than deserving of the best we have to give.

I believe this is the excellency of our God that we will see in verse 2. If you give Him your best, He will give you, His best. And this is the time of reaping what we sow.

He will answer all those prayers of mine, recent and in the car those many years ago. They are written in His book. He will open the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf. The parched places will become pools of Holy Spirit Living Water. Waters will break out in the wilderness and streams in the desert. He will come and change things.

The Lord will gather His saints on a highway, and it shall be called, “The Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it.” No lion or ravenous beast. What a glorious day we will have! We will be set free from bondages that have plagued us and begin to walk in the victory of holiness. Sin will no longer have dominion over us. We will be reaping the victory in our lives and learn to walk in His holiness.

Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. KJV.
