REVELATION 21:22-23
22. I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent (Himself) and the Lamb (Himself) are its temple.
23. And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Splendor -d) Magnificent richness or glory; great luster or brilliance.
Radiant -d) shining brightly, filled with Light, bright, showing joy, well-being; etc.; issuing from a source as in rays.
Illuminate -d) to give light to, to make clear; explain; to inform, enlighten.
Temple -d) a building for the worship of God or gods.
The Lord will create a new heaven and earth. The New Jerusalem or the Holy City descends from heaven arrayed like a beautiful bride adorned for her Husband. She is clothed in God’s glory with all the Lamb’s splendor and radiance.
We see from the definitions that she is filled with the glory and Light from the Holy Spirit. What are the signs but great joy and well-being? He has put His glory, splendor and radiance inside of His bride and no other Light is needed. He is more than enough.
His radiance illuminates the temple with a knowledge of Him. He will spend eternity explaining how and what He does to His chosen ones.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Do you not know that your body is the temple — the very sanctuary of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received as a gift from God? You are not your own. Amp.
We are the temple of God which is a place of worship. He wants the worship of our hearts. We will be filled with Him, and it will bring enough Light that heaven and earth will not need the sun or moon. His illumination will be within us. How wonderfully glorious we will be. He wants to share all of His beauty and radiance with us forever.
All of our trials and suffering cannot begin to compare with the goodness that He has planned for us. We cannot grasp all, but we are learning and growing. How blessed can we be?
Psalm 107:43 Whoso is wise (if there be any truly wise) will observe and heed these things; and they will diligently consider the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord. Amp.
