REVELATION 15:2
2. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. KJV.
DEFINITIONS
Mark -c) a scratch or stamp, (badge of servitude).
Idolatry -c) image – worship.
Idolatry -d) worship of idols, excessive devotion to or reverence for some person or thing.
We are going to examine the Mark of the Beast. I believe this to be a spiritual mark that has to do with the worship of our heart. We are marked in our behavior by what is in our heart just like what we speak. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh, Matt. 15:8-20.
There is always a spiritual meaning as well as physical meaning in the Bible. There is both spiritual Israel and physical Israel, the temple, circumcision, storms, rapture, etc. We cannot ignore the possibility of a spiritual mark in our soul. The definition of mark is about the heart and who or what we love and serve.
Romans 6:16 Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are slaves to him whom you obey, whether it be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness – right doing and right standing with God? Amp.
When we serve someone or thing, we are giving our will over to them. We then begin to serve them and do what they want instead of what we or the Lord wants. Homage is what we do to show that we serve the Lord. If we do His will, we are safe and that will lead us to sanctification, Rom. 6:19. We can get easily lost by a spouse or our kids who sometimes can manipulate us into doing things for them that we do not really want to do. We must watch out because we can become a slave to that thing if we keep giving in to it.
If we keep doing another’s will, we could end up with this spiritual mark of the beast on our soul. Then we are out of God’s protection and provision. Then when there is a famine, they may implement some cashless society where you may need a physical mark to eat. But the spiritual mark is what will steal your soul, The mark in the hand and the forehead show that it is about our actions and our thoughts. Our works will give us away. Satan is copying God.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and lo, a Lamb stood on the Mount Zion, and with Him a hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father’s name written in their foreheads. KJV.
The Father puts the mark of His name on His overcomers, which means character in the Greek. These are before the throne and worship Him day and night in His temple We all need to have His mark or character in our mind and thoughts. We need to serve Him alone doing homage only to Him. Worship is so very important because what you love is what you will do.
Before Babylon falls the angel in Rev. 14:7 says to fear God, give Him glory and worship Him. Judgement has come. The main thing we will be judged for is what we love. The Mark of the Beast is the mark of idolatry. We must lay it all down and put Him first or we will be in Babylon. And we do not want to be there.
Psalm 145:18-20
18. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth.
19. He will fulfill the desire of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, He also will hear their cry, and save them.
20. The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but the wicked will He destroy. Amp.
