REVELATION 14:13

13. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me. Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. KJV.

This is after Babylon has fallen and right before the last harvest with Jesus reaping from the white cloud in verse 16. It is very important for us to enter into His rest whether in life or death.

Hebrews 4:3 For we who have believed – who have adhered to and trusted and relied on God – do enter into that rest, in accordance with His declaration that those who did not believe should not enter when He said, “As I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter into My rest:” and this He said although (His) works had been completed and prepared and waiting for all who would believe from the foundation of the world. This is about our faith. When we go through trials and afflictions, we must keep the proper witness among others. Our words are so important. If we are murmuring it can be contagious just like the Israelites in Numbers 13 and 14. The Israelites went to check out the promise land and came back with an evil report that caused the congregation to cry all night and complain. Joshua and Caleb were the only ones who believed.

We must see their reason was because of their unwillingness to trust in and rely on God, unbelief had shut them out. They saw themselves as weak grasshoppers in front of the giants in the land, Numb. 13:33. They did not acknowledge the power of God that was available to them.

We are to be at peace when He returns, 2 Peter 3:14. One of the Greek definitions of peace is rest. Rest means to cease. We are to cease from our fleshly works and enter into the spiritual realm where we are calmly doing what the Lord wants us to do without any anxiety or worry. If we are relying on the Lord with faith in His power, we can take a breath and rest knowing He is in control of what we do, and all is well.

I believe this is when we can mount up with wings as eagles, we shall run and not be weary; walk and not faint. If the Holy Spirit is in control, we should be able to get so much done. But if we are frantic and worrying about it all, that is not faith or rest. We should rest from our own fleshly labors and works and restfully walk in union with the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You, Lord alone make me to dwell in safety and confident trust. Amp.

We all have this promise. If we put our faith and confidence in the Lord, He will do the work in us, and we will be at rest and sleep better than we ever have before!
