ISAIAH 60:19
19. The sun shall no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the Lord shall be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory and your beauty. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Darkness -c) misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness, withholding the Light, hide.
Light -c) illumination, lightning, happiness, bright, clear, morning, sun.
Illuminous -d) to give light, to make clear, explain, to inform, enlighten.
Glory -c) ornament, beauty, bravery, comely, fair, honor, majesty.
The sun is so important to life on this planet. Without the sun there would be no plants growing. There would be darkness everywhere.
Isaiah 60:2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. KJV
This is a picture of the last days because He withholds His Light and only pours it upon those who have been prepared to receive it. The darkness is His judgment on those that have continually rejected His wonderful gift of Salvation through Blood of Jesus. He will not force His way into hearts but will give them what they desire.
How do we prepare our hearts to receive His glory and beauty?
Matthew 25:10-12 But while they were gone away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared went in with Him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut.
11. Later the other virgins also came, and said Lord, Lord, open the door to us!
12. But He replied, I solemnly declare to you. I do not know you, — I am not acquainted with you.
The foolish virgins ran out of oil because they had no extra oil like the wise virgins. We receive our oil from the Holy Spirit by spending time with Him in the secret place. It is easy and enjoyable to go to Church, at least for me. Some may have a hard time getting out of bed, then they are definitely not prepared.
We must spend time in Prayer and Praise and Worship alone where no one sees but Him. That is where the extra oil comes from, and it will not run out. He wants to know us. And that is His way. He is jealous for our attention. He will not compete with the things of this world. He will simply say, “I do not know you.”
