26. And I will make them and the places round about My hill a blessing; and I will cause the showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing (of good insured by God’s favor). Amp.

This is a last day’s promise. He will deliver His sheep from the false shepherds that are not feeding the sheep but only themselves.

Ezekiel 34:10 Thus I am against the shepherds; and I will require My sheep at their hand and cause them to cease feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves anymore. I will rescue My sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them. Amp.

He will rescue His sheep and raise up one Shepherd, and He shall feed them, (verse 23). I believe He is talking about the millennium and the Shepherd is Jesus. In verse 28 He says this is the day of the Messiah’s reign. He says none shall make them afraid and they shall no more be a prey. They will be safe. This can only happen when Jesus reigns upon the earth.

There is no more fear or devil to afflict anymore. He says He will make places around His hill a blessing. He is calling His holy mountain a hill. There will be showers of blessings. There will be no more hunger. They will bear no more reproach. That means there will be no more blame.

The nations will know that Israel belongs to the Lord and is their God. They will no longer point the finger at Israel in judgment.

Showers of blessings — we can only guess at how the Lord will bless His people when He is with them. His music will dominate all ears. His commandments will be honored everywhere. He will be worshipped, and every knee shall bow.

To live in a society with Him as the Leader would be blessings enough. We can only imagine the greatness of His Mighty Kingdom Coming upon this undeserving world.

Zechariah 14:9 And the Lord shall be King over all the earth; in that day the Lord shall be one (in recognition and worship of men) and His name One. Amp.
