MATTHEW 18:4-5
4. Whoever will humble himself therefore, and becomes (trusting, lowly, loving, forgiving) as this little child, is the greatest in heaven;
5. And whoever receives and accepts and welcomes one little child like this for My sake and in My name receives and accepts and welcomes Me. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Trusting -d) trustful
Lowly -d) of or suited to a low position or rank, humble; meek.
Meek -d) patient and mild; not inclined to anger or resentment.
Loving -d) feeling or expressing love.
Forgive -d) to give up resentment against or the desire to punish; pardon.
The Lord was teaching the disciples who was the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. He was actually saying that the meek and lowly are not very popular people. They were overlooked by society and the powerful who were running the world at that time. He is commanding us to love them as Him.
In verse 6 He is telling them that whoever would entice one of these to sin or hinder him in right conduct they would probably not be forgiven. How many humble and meek children are in Churches and learn the ways of the world by copying what they see the grown-ups do?
So many fall into idolatry and into the ways of this world without anyone teaching them the difference. I believe many will be very surprised when Jesus returns and shows just who served Him and who did not.
Verse 10 says not to despise or feel scornful or think little of one of these little ones. He is very protective of the humble. The humble being one who depends on Jesus. The proud being one who is independent of God and depends on self or this world for help.
The many would be convicted by the lowly ones and their walk because they are doing the right thing in the eyes of the Lord. Have you ever had someone be convicted by your lifestyle or what you said and then that person turned against you? It happens all the time.
Psalm 37:11 But the meek (in the end) shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. Amp.
The Lord is coming back and will bring His rewards with Him. The proud man shall not continue and will be gone. The meek will inherit everything. The Lord knows how to give out His rewards. Many will be surprised when they see the very popular at the bottom and the very small at the top. What a wonderful God we serve!
Great message God is not like us who the book by its cover. He looks at the heart.
We need to put the new man and I am dealing with my heart these days as I am meditating on this word
Colossians 3:12-14
[12] Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put-on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.
[13]bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
[14]But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

I do not mean fix perse but just allowing the HolySpirit to deal with any issues recognize in my life that needs attention.
So the act of saying, “God I need help in this are” is what I term dealing with my issues.
The act of being vulnerable to God.

I am sorry. I did not mean to judge. It is just that is the way I detect what is in my heart. When I repent, I say the Lord’s prayer and add ” Bring to my mind my sins and give me the words to say.” Then I have noticed the words that come out of my mouth sometimes have the answer I need. It is really wonderful. We each have our own ways.
