ROMANS 6:18

18. And having been set free from sin, you have become the servants of righteousness – of conformity to the divine will in thought, purpose and action.

DEFINITIONS

Thought -d) the act or process of thinking; reflection; meditation. The power of reasoning; intellect; imagination. Attention, consideration, ideas and opinions.

Purpose -d) something one intends to get or do. Resolution or determination.

Action -d) the doing of something; motion or operating, Behavior; conduct.

This is the scripture that points us in the right direction about our flesh. We are either obedient to sin or to righteousness. If we keep giving into the flesh and allowing our eyes, ears, arms and legs to do our own will and not the will of Holy Spirit we will not be sanctified. We must choose every day to do the Lord’s will and not our own.

And will He not test us often? There will be times when the body is in pain and says, “no, I cannot do it, it hurts.” We must not give in to the flesh or the pain but follow the Holy Spirit and as we go the pain gets weaker and our spirit gets stronger. He will never fail us. He is always there with all that we need.

We must deny our own thoughts that do not line up with His. We must intend to do His will with no hesitation, and we will succeed. Our behavior and conduct will line up with His will for us. But if we fail at the first 2, thoughts and purpose, we have already lost the battle. We must be determined that we are going to follow Him at all costs. Live or die we will serve the Lord!

Proverbs 16:3 Roll your works upon the Lord — commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and so shall your plans be established and succeed. Amp.

When we commit our works and ways upon the Lord, we are giving up control and giving it to Him. As we give Him control and follow His wisdom in our life, He changes our thoughts, and we are in agreement. It doesn’t mean we stop thinking. But we think things that are right in His eyes. This is part of our sanctification. Then we can expect to succeed in all that we do because He is in control and never fails!

    1. I believe it is about obedience and that is a commandment although with much mercy as we learn to obey. Some things are harder than others and He gives us time because He is so gentle and loving. Don’t you agree?

      2. Do you know how many people have not learned that about How merciful He is? You need to put that into words of comfort for others to hear. I believe that is one of the biggest lies Satan speaks is about how good He is. We need to shout it loud and clear!

      3. I believe many are mad at God down deep and are not aware that they are because they are unknowingly believing Satan’s lies that God doesn’t care about their suffering. They need to hear that He does care.
