5. Now will I arise, says the Lord, because the poor are oppressed, because of groans of the needy; I will set him in safety and in the salvation for which he pants.
6. The words and promises of the lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over. Amp.
This is a Psalm of David written when evildoers prospered all around. The poor lacked because of the oppression of the rich taking advantage of their position. They did not realize the Lord was watching very closely. Those in power sometimes think they will always be in control and on top.
The Lord always hears our cry. He knows just how much we can take in any affliction. He sits by as a refiner and waits to see His reflection in the silver and then turns off the heat. He never wants us to suffer.
Now He will arise and turn things around. The promises of the Lord from Deuteronomy 28 are full of prosperity.
Deut. 28:12 The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens to give you the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
Deut. 28:13 And the Lord shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only and not beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day, and are watchful to do them.
In these 2 promises there is so much to rely on. He keeps His Word to His people. If they keep His commandments, He will keep His promise to them. His Words are always pure Words. If He says, “Now is the time,” then Now is the time!
That is the message for today!
Isaiah 34:8 For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
He sees the oppression of the poor in these last days and will turn things around, just as He brought Israel out from Egypt on dry land and drowned Pharaoh’s army. He will deliver His own and punish the wicked.
