ISAIAH 4:4-6
4. After the Lord has washed away the moral filth of the daughters of Zion (pride, vanity, haughtiness), and shall have purged the blood stains of Jerusalem from the midst of it by the spirit and blast of judgment and by the spirit and blast of burning and sifting.
5. And the Lord will create over the whole site, over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory shall be a canopy — a defense (of divine love and protection).
6. And there shall be a pavilion for a shade in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge and a shelter from the storm and from rain. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Glory -c) splendor or copiousness (abundance)
Pavilion -d) to furnish with a shelter.
This is a last days promise that shows us how the trials affect God’s people. We must have that time of burning and melting away the dross. We must be sifted so we have left the purity that the Lord can use.
He is saying after the refining process is complete, we will be blessed with supernatural protection not just for us but for our own people or assemblies (church). We will not just have protection, but divine love and protection.
He will bless us with His splendor or glory. He will bless us with an abundance of all He is including all we might need. When we go through the fire we experience coming to the end of our own resources. If we trust His promise to us with faith, He will be there and lead us through the very difficult and painful failures that we all must face when self is dying.
Then we will emerge from that painful process with a renewed spirit and strength. We can then help others who will go through similar trials and tests. It will be a glorious day. We will have Church as never before under the defense of His Divine Love and protection while the rest of the world is under His wrath.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength (mighty and impenetrable to temptation) a very present and well proved help in trouble.
11. The Lord of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge (our high tower and stronghold). Selah.
