ISAIAH 58:9-11
9. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I Am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression wherever you find them, the finger pointed in scorn toward the oppressed or the godly, and every form of false, harsh, unjust and wicked speaking;
10. And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry, and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness and your obscurity and gloom be as the noonday.
11. And the Lord shall guide you continually, and satisfy you in drought and dry places, and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a like a watered garden and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Amp.
This is from Isaiah 58 which is known as the Fasting Chapter. It all begins with the fast that the Lord has chosen. I believe so many have a bad concept of fasting and try to ignore it. It is greatly needed for our cleansing. Most of the time He will lead you to a partial fast that lasts longer than a liquid or harder fast.
Many get in their minds that fasting is to be a painful experience, so they do not want to fast. If it is the fast, He chooses for you then He will show you how to receive His anointing that will sustain you and give you the needed strength to perform all of your duties without any discomfort.
It is a wonderful experience as the Lord draws nearer and fills up the void food has left with Himself. His Word becomes tastier than any meal. He has a purpose for you that will leave you with blessings and revelation that come no other way.
He shows us just where we need changes in our life that will bring growth and fruit. Verses 9 through 11 shows us the way. He is very serious about our tongue. It is time to give up all harsh speaking. As we do without the sustaining food in our life, He will sustain others.
When we fast His way, it is such a wonderful experience that you do not want to end. Food loses its importance, and the Lord takes its place. We are changed and give Him more control of our life. Then our light can rise, and we become the garden of His planting.
He causes us to ride upon the High places where He feeds us. When He fed the multitudes, they were satisfied. I believe they were satisfied spiritually like never before. That is His will for us. He can make the simplest food wonderful. That is what giving Him control of what you eat can be. We end up loving Him with all that we are just as we are supposed to while He takes care of us in such special ways.
