“THE ENEMY WILL FLEE” MAY 4, 2022 SCRIPTURE AND SONG

DEUTERONOMY 28:7

The Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. Amp.

Definitions

Defeat -d) to win victory over, overcome, beat.

This victory and all the other victories in Deuteronomy 28 depend on verse 1.

Deut. 28:1 If you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Amp.

The Lord speaks in many ways. He has His ways of convicting and letting you know when He is not pleased. We must pay attention to the Holy Spirit Who will always lead us to righteousness.

If we disobey the leading of the Holy Spirit, the next time it gets easier to disobey. Our heart becomes harder and insensitive to His touch. Our mind will tell us that He does not care if I do this thing just because we have stopped hearing and knowing His touch. He never forces us to do the right thing. He is always testing us.

Romans 6:16 Do you know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness — right doing and right standing with God? Amp.

We must be aware of how important our obedience is. It can give us a mighty victory or keep us defeated. We must be watchful to obey His orders, meaning alert and vigilant. Vigilant meaning alert to danger. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, He will lead us to safety. We must be honest with ourselves and pay attention to who is doing the leading. Is it our own self will, the enemy or the Holy Spirit?

We want the enemy to flee away from us then we have peace and rest on all sides.

Hebrews 4:11 Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter into that rest (of God) — to know and experience it for ourselves — that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience into which those in the wilderness fell. Amp.
