DEFINITIONS
Holy -c) a sacred place or thing, a consecrated, dedicated, or hallowed thing.
Profane -c) unholy.
Fat -c) the richest or choice part, the best.
Zadok -c) just.
Ezekiel 44 is about the priests. He is giving them instructions of how to minister to Him and to the people. He is rebuking the priests of that day telling them they have not kept charge of His holy things. They have let aliens into the sanctuary who were not clean and polluted the sanctuary. They did not offer the right sacrifices and they had broken His covenant.
They had many laws and statutes to keep. They were to keep the Sabbath day holy and teach others to do so. If they broke the laws, they were breaking the covenant. It goes back to the days of the priest Eli and the curse that came upon him because of his disobedience. The curse ran down the line to all of his descendants.
The Lord chose the sons of Zadok to replace them because they did not go astray but kept all the laws. Their name meant just. When Eli was priest, he had stopped hearing God’s voice because God was speaking to Samuel instead. We also must choose what type of priest we want to be. We must be like Zadok and Samuel so the Lord will speak to us also.
Today we have a new covenant by the blood of Jesus. We are justified by our faith and trust in Jesus. It would not matter if we kept many rituals. The Father is looking for faith in our heart. That is what honors Him. We must still give him the fat, meaning the choicest or best part of our life and obedience to Him. He must be first and loved by us more than all. Then we will be His chosen vessels to teach others the difference between the clean and the unclean.
The first covenant was not able to cleanse the heart of man. Jesus had to die so we could be holy and set apart for Him. We enter into His Sabbath rest by Faith. We enter into His rest by faith and trust in His power to deliver us from all evil and keep us clean and blameless in His sight. Only the blood of Jesus can do this. When we believe this, we can be at rest in our souls because we are safe in His care.
When we love Him with all of our heart, all of our mind and all of our flesh, we have come into His Sabbath which is the 7th day that He rested. I believe this is the key for the last days. Satan will have his own stuck in the 6th day with no rest of the spirit because they are not serving Jesus. They have the mark 666. We are 3-fold beings and need the cross to bring us into the completion of 777. That is rest (Hebrews 4).
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him Who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. KJV
