PSALM 37:3-4

3. Trust (lean on, rely on and be confident) in the Lord, and do good; so, shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.

4. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Trust -d) firm belief in the honesty, reliability, etc. of some person or thing: faith.

Delight -d) to give great pleasure to.

What is the main thing the Lord is looking for from His people? Faith in Him is always the answer. We know without faith we cannot please the Lord. And we all do desperately want to be pleasing to the Lord for that is where the blessings come from.

He wants our trust in the hard times. It is easy to lean on Him when all is well. But not so easy when sickness enters the house and fear tells you this will not end well. That is fear when we believe there is danger. The Lord wants us to lean on His Mighty Arm in those times and not be afraid. This is something we must learn for we were not born with it.

I remember when my daughter, Melanie first was coming down with Diabetes. I had prayed for her in so many other areas that she was healed and thought this would be no different. There were times when she would just lay there and not move. That brought fear in my heart and hindered my prayers, but I did not know it. Everything had always gone so well that I had not really ever dealt with fear.

I know now I had many fears that were buried, and the Lord wanted to heal me. He brings the right trial for us. Then we must decide if we are going to lean on Him to lead us to victory. I have shared this before and will keep on sharing it. She was sick for 15 years. Up and down, she was as her blood sugar was. She died at the age of 25 after 11 months on Dialysis.

I went through so many stages. I was strong. I was weak. I gave up. I got mad. I fasted. I prayed. I cried. But He always kept me praying and worshipping. But nothing worked. Now I know everything worked for my good. I learned so much about how the devil works. Now I can see him in others, and I know how to pray. She has received the ultimate healing with Jesus. Isn’t that just what I asked for?

The Lord knew what plan He had for my life and put me in His School of Sorrow. I know I had prayed for more of Jesus in my life and to know his voice. I fell so deeply in love with Jesus that I just could not get enough of Him. Now my life is so filled with Him. He has given me the desires of my heart. He is so near and so wonderful to me. I could talk about Him forever and ever!

The road we are on is not easy. But if we truly trust Him to lead us safely on even when it it painful, He will take us by the hand step by step until we learn that very valuable lesson. That He is good. Once we know that then we give Him our trust and know that we are safe.

Then we can delight ourselves in Him because He has revealed to us how really good He is! He can take the worst disaster and make something beautiful out of it if we trust and believe.

I always think about her at Easter because she was in the Hospital on Easter. It was still a special time in the very hard time because He is so very Good at all times.

Psalm 36:7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of your wings. Amp.
