“SING, O DAUGHTER OF ZION” APRIL 11, 2022 SCRIPTURE AND SONG

ZEPHANIAH 3:14-15

14. Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15. The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, He hath cast out thine enemy: the King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil anymore. KJV

This is speaking of Jesus dying on the cross and setting them free from the works of the enemy. Now He can come and dwell in the midst of our lives because of the gift of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. He has taken our punishment and that takes away our judgment.

We have every reason to sing and rejoice. He has given Israel the power they have for so long needed. He has done great things for us.

Now Israel can have victory over the enemy. He has cast Him out and defeated Him by the cross. Now, “greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world,” (1John 4:4). They could not say this until Jesus died and made a way for Him to dwell within us.

Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord Thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing.

He sent His only Son to the cross to die the most painful, tortuous death than any has ever suffered for us. He loved us so much even after He had to endure the pain of His only wonderful Son Jesus to suffer that way, He is singing about our deliverance. He now gets to bless us with the powerful attributes of Jesus that will give us the ability to become His sons also. That is a pretty good reason to sing for us too!
