REVELATION 12:11-12

11. And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death — holding their lives cheap till they had to die (for their witnessing).

12. Therefore be glad (exult), O heavens and you that dwell in them! but woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in fierce anger (fury), because he knows that he has (only) a short time (left)! Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Dwell -c) “skenoo” to tent or occupy (as a mansion) to reside (as God did in Tabernacle of old), a symbol of protection and communion; a hut or temporary residence as the human body (the abode of the Spirit). This is also the def. of Tabernacles.

Verse 12 is saying to be glad you who dwell in the heavens. This does not just mean only those who have departed this life and have entered into heaven. This is a spiritual meaning. Dwell is the word for where your spirit dwells even in this lifetime.

Ephesians 2:6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together giving us joint seating with Him in the heavenly sphere by virtue of our being in Christ Jesus, the Messiah, the Anointed One. Amp.

This is a spiritual meaning of where we dwell. He wants us to be in the heavenly sphere with Him. It also says in verse 5 that we are delivered from judgment. This is a safe place where the devil cannot touch us. That is why we are to be glad. How do we know if we are safely dwelling in the heavenly sphere?

We must always have faith instead of doubts or fear. We must learn to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh, obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit. We must not let our flesh have control because it is hostile to God for it does not submit itself to God’s Law (Romans 8:4-7)

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the dictates of the flesh you will surely die. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you are habitually putting to death — making extinct, deadening — the evil deeds prompted by the body, you shall (really and genuinely) live forever. Amp.

We must gradually make it our habit each day to tell the flesh no and the Holy Spirit yes. Each time we say yes, we get stronger. We always are going forward or backward. We do not stand still. To be safe we must follow the Lamb wherever he goes. He will lead us on safely!
