ZECHARIAH 9:12
Turn you to the stronghold of security and prosperity, you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you.
DEFINITIONS
Prosperity -d) good fortune, wealth.
Hope -d) a feeling that what is wanted will happen.
The Lord is again setting Israel free and getting ready to use them in a big way to fight battles that they are ordained to win. But He first conditions them by sending them needed blessings that will restore their faith and help them to fight.
They will be spiritually and physically prosperous. He will take care of all their needs in abundance. They will have peace and joy flowing.
Colossians 2:7 Have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him — fixed and founded on Him, being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing with thanksgiving. Amp.
This is true prosperity. When we are rooted in Him nothing can tear us away. Roots grow in the ground where no one can see but God. We must have our fixed time set apart for Him every day alone with God. If we do not, we will starve. We must continuously feed our souls the spiritual food it requires.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes0 from the Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts – deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds…
Can you imagine how wonderful life would be if peace ruled in our minds and spirit and body?
Our blood pressure and blood sugar would be at rest. All of our physical ailments would be ruled by peace. That would be a very healthy state. Our minds would never worry or fear. No depression or sadness would afflict. Peace would rule our spirit.
The scripture says to let peace rule. We must give it our OK and let it rule. When we are at rest trusting that the Lord is in control then peace can rule. When the flesh rules we are doing our own thing, planning our own course without the Lord. There is no blessing there. We are not then in a peaceful state.
Colossians 3 17. And whatever you do – no matter what it is – in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in dependence upon His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him. Amp.
We are never to leave Him out of any detail of our life. If He is so caring of us to want to be involved in all that we do, shouldn’t we take advantage of it? We will only come out better than ever before if we let His peace rule and depend upon Him in all things.
