When the disciples were told by Jesus to remain in the city (Jerusalem) until you are clothed with power from on high, (Luke 24:49), they went to the upper room. It is said in Acts 1:14, All of these with their minds in full agreement devoted themselves steadfastly to prayer, waiting together…
They had to be devoted to prayer. They had to be in full agreement to be in unity and for the Holy Spirit to have His way.
I see many mega churches in this land. They are filled with the distractions of this age. The Media seems to rule and reign. If you do not give the Holy Spirit first place, there will not be an outpouring like there was on Pentecost.
People of today are just not willing to be like the Apostles. If you are devoted to prayer, you are not like the rest. Therefore, there is much rejection of someone who is totally committed and truly in love with Jesus.
Jesus said to go to Jerusalem:
Isaiah 60:14 Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you Jerusalem an eternal glory, a joy from age to age.
I know what it is to be forsaken and hated. I have come to expect that reaction from others because of the way I live. I have a very hard time believing I am being received by others.
I have a daughter and a spiritual daughter who love me. They may forsake me at times, but I know they love me. We must make the choice between this world and its followers to be a part of the last days outpouring that is coming.
There will not be many. But they will be in full agreement and devoted in prayer. The unity that is poured out upon them will be so intense with such devotion to each other as Jesus is devoted to us.
Isaiah 60:22 The least one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation. I the Lord will hasten it in its appointed time. Amp.
