Peace -c) safe, rest, favor, well, happy, quietness, health, welfare and prosperity.
Isaiah 32:17 and the effect of righteousness shall be peace (internal and external), and the result of righteousness, quietness and confident trust forever.
When we trust in the Lord and follow Him the fruit of the Spirit begins to grow within us. He gives His peace that kept Him at rest while on this earth as He was constantly being tormented by the Pharisees and other unbelievers. But He never lost His peace. He would just walk away. He slept through the storm. He answered not a word when falsely accused. He was at peace and rest when carrying His cross.
We always have His peace available to us that we can be kept calm in any adversity. Yes, we know this is true, but do we succeed? We must learn to be at peace and at rest. We have to take a look around and give out a sigh of relief that all is well. That is rest.
If you begin every task with that attitude, it will work out the way it should. It is when we look at our tasks or problems in fear without that sigh of relief that things get all messed up. If He is in control, we should not fear.
I have a neighbor who likes to shoot a gun outside of my house. I must go to bed in peace knowing harm cannot come through my door and I am safe. I know the Lord has let this happen for my good so I will learn how safe I am. I can take this promise and believe that He makes me to lie down in safety and confident trust. That is the truth. He cannot lie to me. So, I am safe!
Isaiah 32:18 My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, in safe dwellings and quiet resting places.
He has done this for me. When I first heard the shots, I was afraid. But I have learned that I am not in danger for He is with me and now I am not afraid. He lets us go through what we need to see how safe we are in the midst of chaos. So, I thank Him for the trial.
We can look at all the definitions of peace and see how utterly and perfectly blessed we are. He wants us to be happy. He wants us to be prosperous and not do without what we need. I used to think He wanted me to do without everything. But now I see if He is the most important thing in your life, He will give you all things. He is more than generous to His people.
He wants us to be healthy and be in quietness. When we have a fit of anger or anxiety of any kind it is not good for us physically. When we are calm, we are at peace and rest.
Psalm 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory (my inner self) rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety. Amp.
