PSALM 25:10

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness are they for those who keep His covenant and testimonies. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Mercy -d) a refraining from harming or punishing offenders, enemies, etc., kindness in excess of what may be expected. Kind or compassionate treatment.

Steadfast -d) firm, fixed or established; not changing or fickle.

Love -d) strong affection.

True -d) reliable, certain, faithful, loyal, not false.

This is a Psalm of David. He is praying as he does so many times, asking for deliverance from his enemies and to be forgiven for his sins. Most of us pray this every day also, but we somehow lack the greatness by which David expresses himself to His Lord.

Psalm 25:10 is telling us that if we follow the Lord’s will in our life, that all His paths are mercy, steadfast love, truth and faithfulness. What more could we ask for to be happy and complete in this life?

It does not mean that the path will always be easy. But it is no blessing to have an easy path if it is without His mercy, steadfast love, truth and faithfulness.

His kindness exceeds any we have been shown by this world. His love is unmatchable, so wonderful and satisfying. He is so true to His Word and Himself and we can depend upon Him always to be true to us in every way. He is forever faithful and loyal to us. Can we say that about our earthly loves?

If He were only one of these things it would be enough. But He is all and even more than these. He has more goodness than we can see or ever use up – endless and sure – always there when we call – always there when we fall. He is the complete package that is needed down deep in our soul. Only He has what we need.

What is our part? We are to keep His covenant and testimonies. Romans 3 explains that we are no longer justified by observing the Law like the Israelites. The righteousness of God comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ the Messiah. (Vs. 22)

We are to show the world that we trust in Jesus by the testimony we give or evidence that shows in how we live and how we react to trouble. We are all a story that is being told to the world by the Holy Spirit living through us and shining His Light all around in this painfully dark world.

Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among ye shine as lights in the world: KJV.
