3. And they sing a new song, before the throne of God and before the four living creatures and before the elders of the heavenly Sanhedrin. No one could learn to sing that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been ransomed (purchased, redeemed) from the earth.

New -c) freshness, regenerate.

Regenerate -d) spiritually reborn, renewed, restored, reformed, to bring into existence again.

I believe this is the overcoming remnant. They must learn the new song. How do you learn a new song? That sounds pretty easy. But this is not your average song. It is new because it is coming from hearts that have been changed. They have been spiritually reborn and born again by the regeneration of the Blood of Jesus. He has brought them out of the darkness into the Light.

They have endured the refiner’s fire and have come out standing before the Lord in victory, The main part in overcoming any trial is not forgetting to be thankful in the midst of suffering. That is something we all must learn. We have to learn to keep our spiritual eyes on the good thing God wants for us and resist the fear and sadness that will steal our joy.

It is in our nature to not be content when we are hurting. We want to cry and complain. We must learn this New Song that is to be sung when we are hurting. The power comes when we do what the Lord does. We have so much to be thankful for. He died for our sins. He loved us so much. He was not willing to let us go. He did not save the fallen angels, but He saved us.

We must learn to focus on the good things He has done for us, when the hard times come. If we can maintain a thankful and positive attitude, our trial and pain will quickly come to an end. I know because He has done it for me over and over.

At times I have had to stop and voice what I have to be thankful for. It is not long before my joy returns. It works every time. It is always good for us to remember what He has done for us in the past. He is always faithful to us and will not leave us or forsake us.

Psalm 149:1 Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of the saints! 2. Let Israel rejoice in Him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3. Let them praise His name in the dance: let them sing praises unto Him with the timbrel and harp.

Now let’s get our tambourines and dance before the Lord!
