DEFINITIONS

Refuge -d) shelter or protection from danger, difficulty, place of safety.

Psalm 46 is telling many things that are foretold for the last days. He is saying when these things happen, and they will, that He is that River of Life that will make us glad in the midst of chaos and destruction. We must make Him our refuge. Where do you go for help?

He must be the one we turn to when we are sick, hungry and without. If we are in the habit of going to man for help, it may be too late to turn to Him when all other help has been ended.

Verse 6 says, “He uttered His voice and the earth melted.”

Isaiah 34:4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved…

Dissolved is being melted. He will create a new heaven and earth and will do away with the old. If we are still living at this time which I believe is at the door, we will see this with our eyes. How will we handle it?

There is no way anyone can handle such a thing. He must be our refuge. We must have our daily prayer and worship time in our life. Then He will meet us there every day. If we neglect Him and our prayers and worship, then we will not be safe.

There is such a peace that comes when you come to Him alone and pour out your heart to Him telling Him your troubles. He truly listens and give us answers. The more we come to Him, the more we learn of Him. He teaches us to hear His voice every day which brings so much comfort, peace and joy as nothing else can.

He is giving us this warning and He is giving us the remedy. He is the everlasting remedy to our every need and difficulty. We must spend time with Him now before all of the signs come upon us and it be too late.

Psalm 46 is telling His people that He is with them and there is nothing to fear when all this happens, He will keep us safe. Verse 10 says we are to be still and know that He is God, and He will be exalted in the earth.

When our soul is at rest trusting in Him, we are still. We have His peace keeping us calm and safe with no anxiety or fear. This is the picture of faith that He wants from His people.
