As the days on which the Jews got rest from their enemies, and as the month, which was turned for them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, days of sending choice portions to one another and gifts to the poor. Amp.
Rest -d) relief from anything distressing, tiring, etc.; to become quiet or still; peace of mind.
Haman was promoted by King Ahasuerus and set his seat above all the princes who were with him (Est.3:1). The king had commanded all to bow down to Haman at the king’s gate. But Mordecai the Jew would not bow down or do him reverence. This made Haman very angry so he sought to destroy all the Jews.
He took lies to the king and said the Jews were a people who would not keep the king’s laws, they are different from all other people. The king believed him and gave him permission to destroy all the Jews not knowing that his new Queen Esther was a Jew.
Mordecai never showed fear because he knew the Almighty was in control. He took it to Esther. And after fasting, she went before the king and received his favor. The matter was changed because one Jew refused to fear, and one had favor with the king.
They could not reverse a law of the kings, so they gave the Jews the right to fight. They sent out letters telling them to be ready on that day to avenge themselves. The Lord caused the fear of the Jews to fall upon the people. So, they had rule over those that hated them.
The Jews smote their enemies and won. So, they had rest and relief. Instead of being destroyed, they had a holiday and feasting.
Our lives are the same as the Jews. Satan has a plan to destroy us, but we must learn to refuse to fear and take the matter to our King. If we have His favor, we too will endure a battle that we are destined to win. Ours is a spiritual battle that is won in the spiritual realm.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (KJV). We must do battle every day against the forces that have been assigned to attack our families. The last days will only get worse.
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. KJV
7. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues and nations.
Daniel 7:26 But the judgment shall be set by the court of the Most High, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume it gradually and to destroy it suddenly in the end. Amp.
We have been given authority over an evil spirit that is allowed to overcome us. We must fight this battle with an evil unseen force and gradually we will receive the kingdom (vs.27). He is more than an evil spirit. The 7 Horns symbolize 7 powers. They have 10 horns with 10 crowns which symbolize 10 rulers. I believe this spirit has been unleashed upon the earth to drive God’s Church back to Him.
There is always a remnant of God He has prepared to arise and possess the land. They will have the favor of the King, refusing to fear, standing before Him in royal robes of righteousness. He will grant their request. Then Sorrow will be changed to Gladness.
Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
