Zechariah 9:16-17 And the Lord will save them on that day as the flock of His people, for they shall be as the precious jewels of a crown, lifted high over and shining glitteringly upon His land.
17. For how great is God's goodness and how great is His beauty! And how great He will make Israel's goodliness and Israel's beauty! Grain shall make the young men thrive, and fresh wine the maidens. Amp.
Zechariah 9 is full of so much goodness and does it not reflect on the Lord's goodness? He is casting out Israel's enemies. He is releasing prisoners. He is restoring double their prosperity.
The Lord shall protect, defend and be seen over them. He shall go forth as lightning and shall blow the trumpet! vs. 10-15.
I believe this is the beginning of the last days outpouring. Chapter 10 starts out about the latter rain. The Lord will begin by saving them as a flock and they will be precious jewels, lifted high over and shining glitteringly upon His land. How will He do that?
The Lord has given me this scripture many times. It is so positive and shows so much of His love for His people. He always has a plan that is higher than any thing we can come up with. He gave Me this scripture when the weather was really cold and icy.
Temperatures were perfect for ice. Ice was covering the power lines so that many had lost their electricity. The ice in some places was 1-2 inches thick. The temperatures were not cooperating, but keeping them frozen. The power companies had to bring in manpower from other states to help with the labor. Many were without power for up to 3 weeks. It was a very hard time for most. Mine was only out for less than 24 hours. I was blessed.
The trees were covered in ice and many limbs broke off, causing other problems. But when the sun did shine on the ice laden trees, I have never seen a more beautiful sight. They sparkled like crystal rainbows shining all over the hillside. And I remembered this scripture!
One day the Lord will bring the remnant of His people through the fires of a rough storm. And yes, they will suffer, but not without their Savior close by. He shall defend and protect while they tread on their fallen enemies. They shall be noisy with victory.
The end result will be one of the Lord's most exquisite work.
How great is His beauty and His goodness? He will pour Himself into His flock and make them shine in overwhelming, glitteringly beauty that can only be created by His Beauty filling their soul and shining for the world to see. I have only seen one Ice Storm like that one in my life and hope never to see another.
It just shows how He can make beauty out of ashes or treacherous icy conditions. Does He not promise to make all things work for our good, even the bad storms in our life? What is the key?
We must never stop trusting in His goodness even when we do not understand. Things may get upsettingly hard to bear. But that is the time to trust that He will turn it around for your good. We have to maintain a positive and thankful attitude. That is what He deserves from us always. He is worthy of our trust.
