2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self-sufficient — possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation. Abundance – d) more than enough, wealth.
Grace – c) divine influence upon the heart.
This scripture is the final result of a cheerful giver that has given more than enough to the work of God. Verses 6 and 7 say that if you sow sparingly you will reap sparingly, and if you sow bountifully you will reap bountifully. For God loves a cheerful giver.
When we give our finances cheerfully, we can always expect to have more than enough to live on. He will bless you in ways you cannot see. The car will not break down. Your expenses will not be more than your income. When you withhold you tithe, that is when things break down and the money runs out.
Deuteronomy 28:11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods…
Deuteronomy 28:12 The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thine hand in His season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. KJV
Israel had to make sure they gave the first fruits of the harvest to God, or they may not have had a harvest the next year. But if they obeyed the Lord, they would have the blessing of His good treasure and lend and not borrow. The Lord made it so easy for them to be blessed.
This is not only speaking of our finances, but about our service to Him. He is speaking not only physically, but spiritually. He is telling us that if we give ourselves to Him whole-heartedly in our prayer, communion, worship, ministry, etc. that He will also open up His good treasure to us.
He will multiply our resources for every good work in abundance. This means when you are sleepy and tired and out of strength, He will fill you with His strength and joy to complete any task that you may have in front of you. He wants to bless us. We must believe this promise and not the lies of the enemy, when our own strength runs out, as it always does. We can only receive through faith the things of God. Fear will always steal our blessings.
It is His job to supply our needs. It is our job to obey. Then when the abundant life starts to flow, you become a blessing to others. We then truly can experience being more blessed to give than to receive. Many cries of thanksgiving arise to God because of the works that you do.
John 10:10 The thief comes only in order that he may steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance — to the full, till it overflows. Amp.
