REVELATION 3:7-8 And to the angel of (the messenger) of the assembly (the church) in Philadelphia write; These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, who shuts and no one shall open.
8. I know your record of works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message, and have not renounced or denied My name. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
DENIED -c) to contradict, reject, refuse.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem for what the Father had promised. Acts 1:8 says But you shall receive power —ability, efficiency and might —when the Holy Spirit, has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea, and Samaria and to the ends — the very bounds — of the earth.
He is telling us the same thing today. I have seen some new Christians get involved with a ministry too soon and they wondered why doors never really opened to them because there was no fruit. The Lord opens doors but He also shuts doors.
We too have to go to our upper room and give the Holy Spirit the opportunity to fill us with the power that we need in order to do His work with His efficiency and might. If we do not allow the Holy Spirit to change us that would be rejection and denial of Him.
If we have worries and fears, they get in the way and can stop the flow of the Holy Spirit in us. He works through us only by faith. Fear is the opposite of faith. Worry is the beginning of fear. We have to learn how to resist fear and worry if we want Him to flow through us. We all worry. But now we have been given the power to overcome this problem.
I have shared this in previous posts. I have a picture of a ladder to peace and to fear that helps me see where I am at. I am sharing it again.

When we let peace rule our hearts (Col.3:15) His spring of water will flow continually through us (John 4:14) bringing healing to our soul and to our bodies and to others.
Then too will we hear Him say, See! I have set before you a door wide open, which no one is able to shut.
SUBJECT — REST — DAVID WILKERSON
Rest in God means there is no longer any struggle of doubt or fear but rather, a settled confidence that God is with you and He cannot fail and He that called you will see you through.
