5. Offer just and right sacrifices; trust (lean on and be confident) in the Lord.
6. Many say, O that we might see some good! Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Sacrifice -d) an offering of the life of a person or animal, or of an animal, or of an object in homage to a deity; something so offered; a giving up, destroying, etc. of one thing for the sake of another of higher value; the giving of one’s life as for a cause.
Psalm 4:5 is telling us to offer the right sacrifices. What does the Lord want from us? What is right in His eyes? It does not matter what we think. He wants us to give Him the right thing so we will grow and not waste our time or His. It is so much more than the 10 per cent of our income. It is a heart thing which is much more difficult.
In the book of Daniel 9:27 it tells that in the last days Satan will cause the offering to cease. We must know what this offering is in our lives and not let it cease. We must be clear on what He wants for us so we will not let Satan steal it from our lives. He is a thief and comes to steal, kill and destroy. Many will be going through the motions without giving any offering to the Lord. And many will copy them.
When the Lord gave His life for us, He gave it all. He held not a drop but gave all up for us. He knows what we can give and what we hang onto. The more we give to Him, the more He gives back to us. It is an honor to give to Him. If we despise it, we are lost.
We must know to trust Him is the most important thing in our life to do. He already owns us. He wants the trust of our heart. He wants us to give it to Him freely from a heart full of love and trust for Him because we believe He is good and loves us and will always be what we need in every situation.
We must give Him our life because that is His commandment. He purchased us by His blood, and we are not our own anymore. But it is still a freewill offering. He never takes but waits for us to give. All of our actions should belong to Him. We must learn His voice to know which steps to make. But none of this can be done without trust. If trust is in the heart the offering should flow.
