ISAIAH 61:1-3

  1. The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
  2. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all that mourn;
  3. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to Give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

We have read this before and discussed these 3 verses. Is there more? I believe we can dig deeper and see something brand new. What is the Spirit saying to us? Jesus read this in the synagogue and stopped in the middle if verse 2. The footnote in the Amplified says He had to stop there because the rest would not be fulfilled until His second coming. I believe His people will perform this word by the power of the Holy Spirit which was not available to them then as it is now.

They will proclaim the coming of the Lord. There will be many on that day that are mourning because of the great tribulation that is all around them. They will have a greater anointing as they tell of the Day of the Lord and His coming.

They will warn of the day of His wrath or “vengeance” that is coming. They will tell of the greatness of His return and the glory that will be revealed. This will bring comfort to those that mourn in Zion because of the overwhelming devastation they will be exposed to.

They will give unto them beauty for ashes. They will be going through the refining fire and will not see the good in their pain until it is revealed to them supernaturally. They will be filled with a greater anointing than has ever been before.

It will bring them such great joy and will change their heaviness into the garment of praise. The Lord will be glorified by them in a great way. They will be seen as strong oak trees that have been planted by the Lord only. They will go forth where the wrath has been and rebuild, renew and raise up many from the ashes.

They will be very prosperous spiritually and physically when there is devastation all around. It will be clear who are blessed and who are cursed. The Lord will make it clear to all who have served Him and Who have been faking it.

This will be truly a day of recompense and of reaping what has been sown. Whatever has been done will return upon all. A true day of His Glory and His Wrath!

2 Thessalonians 1:10 When He comes to be glorified in His saints. (That is on that day He will be made more glorious in His consecrated people) and He will be marveled at and admired in His glory reflected in all who have believed.
