1 CORINTHIANS 2:9-10

9. But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and has not entered into the heart of man, all that, God has prepared – made and keeps ready – for those who love Him (that is for those who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed).

10. Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the (Holy) Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God — the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny.

The scripture is saying the natural man has not seen but the spiritual man has been shown these wonderful things by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has revealed them through spiritual language. The natural man does not accept or welcome them into his heart. They are folly to him, and he is incapable of knowing them, (vs 13-14).

The spiritual man tries all things by examining them because they are wonderful to him and all that he wants. That is a never-ending process. We are to continually be digging into the Word of God and the teachings of the Holy Spirit. But this is speaking more of the divine favor and gifts of the Lord that come from being in His presence.

This is where we find the bottomless things of God, like the knowledge of God Himself. We will never get to the end of all that He is. He is love and infinite and will go on and on forever. He does not reveal these things to everyone, but to those who love Him and promptly obey Him. For they have the mind of Christ and are permitted to understand the counsels and purposes of God. But no one can judge the spiritual man or properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him (vs. 15-16).
