ISAIAH 25:1-2
- O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name; for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old and fulfilled in faithfulness and truth.
- For You have made a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin; a palace of aliens without a city – is no more a city; it will never be rebuilt. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Babylon -c) confusion, to overflow, to mix, fodder, (feed for cattle – not sheep)
This comes after the destruction in chapter 24. This is the very end. Others have said this city is Babylon in verse 2. I agree. Babylon falls. It drinks all of Gods wrath at the very end, (Rev. 16:19). He is doing what He said He would do.
Babylon is a spiritual city. It is not merely in one place. It is like the Church and spread far and wide. I think the destruction will be like that of a tornado. It can hit only one side of a street and not touch the other side. The Lord chooses where it will hit.
The definition for Babylon is very revealing of the safe place. Confusion comes when we are in unbelief for too long and then darkness comes. The Holy Spirit must have faith in the heart. Where faith is there should be no confusion. The Lord will make His plan known to His own. His Light will lead the way by faith in Jesus.
With Babylon always comes a mixture of good and evil. The Lord wants us to be separate from this world and its unholiness which is infectious, (Haggai 2:13). There are so many things the Lord will not let me be involved in because there is so much worldliness involved that is Babylon, a very dangerous place. When He says separate, He means separate and cut off.
We must be careful of the spiritual food we eat. There is so much that is not food for sheep but fodder which is actually garbage. If we eat spiritual junk food, we will become weak and an easy mark for Satan. We musts stay strong and filled with the Holy Spirit. If we spend time in Babylon, the Holy Spirit will leak out leaving us empty, dry and an open prey to the enemy.
He will swallow up death and hold a feast on Mount Zion. His hand will rest on Mount Zion while Babylon is destroyed.

This looks like a reasonable prospect. The devil is a great counterfeit, always trying to bring his own kingdom in this world. He has taken a great foothold in all of history, but unlike the Kingdom of Christ it will come to ruin.

We must heed the warning in Rev. 18:4 to come out from Babylon or suffer its plagues. Babylon is all around us and very dangerous.

On one side of the street and not the other…sounds like the plagues in Egypt
The Egyptians could not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days; but all the Israelites had natural light in their dwellings. (Ex 10:23)

The hail struck down throughout all the land of Egypt everything that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail beat down all the vegetation of the field and shattered every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were, was there no hail (Ex 9:25)
