“UNOCCUPIED, SWEPT, PUT IN ORDER AND DECORATED” DAY OF THE LORD APRIL 7, 2023

MATTHEW 12:43-44

43. But when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he roams through dry places in search of rest, but he does not find any.

44. Then he says, I will go back to my house from which I came out. And when he arrives, he finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in order and decorated. Amp.

We know Jesus is talking about an evil spirit leaving a man when he first gets saved. Did you ever think of how Jesus knows this piece of info? How else except He be God. Who else could know that this happens? Let’s examine His words.

He calls a man a house. We are His abode. Satan is always copying God. He is always trying to be God. He wants us to be his dwelling place. We were created to be filled with God Himself. Nothing inferior will ever do! We must learn from this.

When he comes back to his former house, he finds it unoccupied. Why does he find it unoccupied? When we first get saved, we are cleaner than any other time. We must keep our house clean by filling it with the right stuff.

JOHN 14:23 … If a person really loves Me, he will keep My Word, obey My teaching; and My Father will love him. and we will come to him and make our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

We must love and obey the Lord. Then He will fill us with His presence and that makes us occupied, and no demon can come back to this house.

He also finds it swept and put in order. When the Lord starts doing those deliverances, He does so well, He is putting our house in order. Everything is put where it should be. The Lord knows what to do. He sweeps out all the cobwebs that need to go. He puts in all the questions marks we need and fills us with Himself.

Finally, how is it to be decorated? I believe it will be filled with trophies of all our victories. Plaques on the wall of all our special achievements that God is so proud of. It will have our own memorabilia of our toughest and most painful trials. The Lord remembers it all. It will be a special touch He makes for His children.
