PSALM 18:1-3
- I love You fervently and devotedly, O Lord, my strength.
- The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my keen and firm strength in Whom I will trust and take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
- I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised; so, shall I be saved from my enemies. Amp.
I believe Psalm 18 is a picture of the last days overcoming remnant. David is running from Saul for his life. He is pulling out every means of protection He has. This was the bare essentials. He starts with worship; He tells the Lord how much He loves Him, and that He is David’s strength. This is how to get the Lord’s attention.
Here is a list of all that the Lord promises.
- My Rock
- My Fortress
- My Deliverer
- My Refuge
- My Shield
- The Horn of my Salvation
- My High Tower
What does each mean? My rock – we know that if we step on the ground, we might get stung or bit by something. but if we have our feet on the rock, we are safe, whether we are in a creek or land. The rock won’t give way. Jesus is that rock and when we stand upon His beauty, His principles and holiness we know we are safe.
If He is our fortress, we run into a safe place with high walls above this world and are safe. If He is our deliverer, we are set free from every chain that binds us. The enemy will not be sure and knows that he cannot get in so will not come after us.
He is my refuge and safe place in a storm. I take shelter under His wings and am safe. I run only to Him for help. He is my shield and is covering me with Himself. He is the horn of My salvation; He is my mighty strength. When I can’t go on, He fills me with so much of Him. Nothing can get past Him. I am safe.
He is my High Tower. I can run up high and watch the enemy. As I get the victories I am led into the secret place and become raptured in His perfect light. I am covered in His blood and the enemy gets tired of losing so leaves and is off to bother someone else.
So, I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised. So shall I be saved from my enemies. I can sing and shout for joy for His goodness to me. He has saved me from every battle. He has been there every time I called. He will never leave me. I shall praise and worship Him forever!
Great Lesson Wenda! We need this one to remind Us that Our Firm Foundation is Found in Jesus๐
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong (Prov 18:10)
