MATTHEW 25:29
29. For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance.
The main principle in Matthew 25 is abundance or having more than enough. The wise virgins had more than enough oil with them, so their lamps did not go out. What was their secret?
In verse 10 it says those who were prepared went into the marriage feast and the door was shut. What did Jesus say to the foolish virgins who were shut out? He said, “I do not know you; I am not acquainted with you.”
We must first of all have our time with the Lord, not just praying but communing intimately with Him sharing our heart with Him. This is how we get to know Him as He responds to us. It is wonderfully addictive filling us with the Holy Spirit.
In verse 21, His master said to him, “Well done you (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy, the delight, the blessedness which your master enjoys.” Amp.
So it would seem to be that the talents we were given are to be used and not buried. When we use them we are being faithful in a little and are given more until we have abundance. Then Jesus takes us one step further.
In verse 35 it says, “For I was hungry, and you gave Me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained Me!
When we use what we have been given to give to others we are allowed into the marriage feast. First, we must acquire abundance. Then we must give it away to those who cross our path because Jesus is watching.
