PSALM 122:6

6. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! May they prosper that love you (the Holy City)!

The Lord loves His people so much. He is blessing those who pray for them. Those who love them will prosper. If He prospers them and blesses them, what happens to their enemies?

Genesis 27:29

29. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you: be master over your brothers and let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Let everyone, be cursed who curses you, and favored with blessings who blesses you. Amp.

He knows that we will not be treated fairly on this earth. He tries to make it a little easier showing us the eventual blessing that comes when we walk in His ways. Though He was rejected and despised in this life, we can expect more of the same.

John 15:18-19

18. If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you.

19. If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection and would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world – are no longer one with it – but I have chosen (selected) you out of this world, the world hates (detests) you.

We should not desire the praises of man. That is the opposite of what He wants for us. Jesus knew He would be rejected by most. We still believe that others are going to like us and are surprised to hear it,

We are to do works that please Him. If we do all He says, we can expect opposition and all that goes with it. But when the good finally comes those who stayed with us will be blessed with good.

  1. And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not be King over them (1Sa 8:7) This reminds me of how God comforted Samuel when he felt rejected by the world, after many years of love and dedication. When I get discouraged, God reminds to not to get weary in well-doing, because in due season, I will reap. I just want to be pleasing in his sight…not the world’s💕
