PSALM 16:8-9

8. I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory (my inner self) rejoices; my body too shall rest and confidently dwell in safety. Amp.

Psalm 16 is a most wonderful promise to all of us. It is very important what we put before us. How do you spend your time? What is before you? What do you look at?

There are so many Tech Toys of this age that can alter your day in a large way. Many are addicted to machines and their notifications. They keep them close by at all times. Now if Jesus lived today, what would He do? Would He be checking His phone every other moment?

I don’t think so.

Romans 15:3 For Christ gave no thought to His own interests, to please Himself…

Hebrews 12:2 Looking away from all that will distract to Jesus…

Colossians 3:2 And set your mind and keep them set on what is above – the higher things – not on the things of the earth. Amp.

Here are only 3 scriptures that do not promote being attached to your phone. The Lord wants and deserves all of our attention. He is jealous of our time and where we spend it.

When we come to Him in prayer, communion or worship, we should leave our phones and computers in the other room, so we are not distracted or interrupted. If He was physically standing before you, you would not allow anything to disturb your audience with the King. Well, that is how we have to see our time with Him. It is the most valuable possession we have been given in this life. We are accountable for how we use it.

If we truly honor Him in our heart and life, then we will be blessed with the rest of Ps. 16. We will dwell in safety. We will rejoice and be glad. We shall rest and not let the cares of this world steal your joy and peace.

Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

What more can we ask? We need Him to guide us and show us the way continually in this world. There are traps everywhere if left to ourselves. We should never be content to live without joy. He promises fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. Why let sadness and fear win the day? It is up to us. What is continually before you?
