Isaiah 12:2-3 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation.
3. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
This scripture is saying the Lord will speak peace to us and grant us His salvation. His peace and salvation are all that we need. But we must be serious in our walk and not be slack or slothful. If we let self-rule, Satan can feed us lies causing us to be disobedient in certain areas that some may not think are important, but they may be silly to the Lord or showing little sense or judgment.
Isaiah 12:3 says with joy, draw water out of the wells of salvation. What do you feed on? When you listen to the voices of this world, the water is not pure. Psalm 85:8 says I will listen to what the Lord will say. That is the pure water that we must drink. Our thoughts can become easily confused with the opposition of this world.
When the Lord speaks to you it changes everything. Sorrow takes wings and great joy abides. There is nothing better than the sweet gentleness of His voice. There is power in His Words that flow in your heart.
Along time ago, I was praying about something really painful. I heard the Lord say, “Give it to Me.” As He spoke, I felt Him pull the pain out of my heart. The pain left and I was healed. There was power in His words to me that healed. When you drink only from His pure waters you find Jesus. And Jesus is all we ever need.
God’s voice is powerful: He speaks, and it is done; when we hear Him our distress is ended. Happy is the one who prays and then has grace to lie patiently at the Lord’s door and wait until His love will chase all sorrow far away.
